On 27 August 1987 Noel Almeida started Cricket Local Post. The name is not related to Grylloidea (the insect) but to the national summer sport of Australia. The service operates from his home town of Endeavour Hills, south-east of Melbourne, and aims at honouring the noble and international game of cricket. Endeavour Hills, in the City of Casey is thirty-three kilometres from the General Post Office Melbourne, was named after Captain James Cook's ship the Endeavour in 1971. The CLP logo is a kangaroo with a cricket bat tucked under its left arm; the motto is Have A Go Australia. Cricket Local Post has produced a range of rather unique items.
